Mate,

What do you have of the wounding of Franz in Palestine around Oct 1918

I have this

Zimny Franz Flieger Ground crew Airforce Flieger-Abteilung 301 7-17 1917-18

(1898 at Borroschau Dirschau DoW 26-10-18) tödlich verwundet (mortally wounded) near Konia (Konya) commemoration at Tarabya Istanbul Sammelgrab 1 Erstbestattung in 'West-Anatolien' - später nach Istanbul/Türkei umgebettet.(First burial in 'West Anatolia' - later reburied in Istanbul / Turkey)

If correct what was he doing around Konya, a city in the South West of Turkey.

Now FA 301 was no where near this area?

Any ideas

Mates,

I should add the date also shows the same details for;

Wegerhoff August Kanonier / Flieger

staff / ground crew Airforce 14th Aircraft Company Tayyare Boluk - Zur Osmanischen Armee Kommandierte - Ottoman Flieger-Abteilung 14 1917-18

(1898 at Böhlerheide Hagen DoD 26-10-18) Krankheit (illness) Erstbestattung in 'West-Anatolien' - später nach Istanbul/Türkei umgebettet commemoration at Tarabya Istanbul - Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof Istanbul (German military cemetery Istanbul)

Possibly both died in a hospital along the railway line from Istanbul to Aleppo after the units escaped from Palestine when the Ottomans were pushed out by the Allied forces.

The Germans had consular interests in Konya there and I record a Nagel Lt Afyon vo Konya'da. Ayrica Askeri heyetin Bogaziçi gazetesinde resimler çizer (Afyon and Konya. Ayrica Military delegation draws pictures on Bogazici newspaper) and Gabriel Josef Kraftfarher Dvr KUK Autotruppe Autokolonne Türkei No 1 in Konya (1 MT Co) in that City.

Cheers
