Hello Steve
I can see that there is something wrong with the names.
Some of the family names certainly don't start with a "V" but with a "W".
Where did you find these names. In an old document with the old German font?
If I could see these documents I could identify one or the other name.
I have now tried to translate the family names correctly as possible. All names that are written in large letters should be correct.

Sorry the names came from the book/Disc of the "Ottoman Aviation 1909-1919" by Ole Nikolajsen

He lists all names (?) of both Ottoman and German flyers (pilot and Observers) that served in Turkey during the war.

These include those on both Ottoman Air Companies and German FA's also some German and Ottoman Naval flyers.

Your right, I found many German names misspelled, but also Ottoman names.

Can you give any more details on those you corrected, like?
