Beyer Lt FA 300

Mate,

I saw this man shown in Ottoman Service

Beyer Lt (Capt) (Filistin'de 300. Uçus filosunda (Flieger-Abteilung 300 in Palestine) (rank in brackets is Ottoman rank)

I checked a number of men but found only this man?

possibly Bayer Fritz Lt (Capt) flugzeugfuhrer (pilot) Airforce Feldflieger-Truppe (possibly born at Gößnitz Sachs. Altbg ) beim landen schwer verwundet (seriously wounded on landing) WIA 1916 (possibly accident around 6-16) from (6th Royal Saxon) Infanterie Regiment "King William II of Württemberg" No 105

Do you think they are the same man or who is the Lt Beyer in FA 300?

Hi Steve

I do not think Fritz Erich Beyer (born 03/06/1895 Gößnitz, Sachs. Altbg.) is your man although he did indeed serve in KSIR 105 and the Air Service. His wounding is also recorded in the Saxon Verlustlisten lists where he was listed as attached to Artillerie-Munitionskolonne 50 Inf.Div. However, at some point he was temporarily attached to Bayer Amree-Flugpark 06 which summarizes his war service to that point and does not appear to mention any service in the Orient. I will send Thorsten a copy as he reads hand written German better than I so he can confirm this. Sorry to have bad news.

In a source it says: he broke his scull and leg in July 1916 flying with FFA 9 on the western front.
