Lt.d.R. Werner Braune

Beitragvon jaba » Mi 28. Jul 2010, 15:27

Hi Alex

Lt dR Werner Braune did not arrive to FFA 22 until 14 Sep 15 which limits the time for his success to a few months in late 1915.

He had been promoted Lt dR on 9 Oct 14.
EKII on 30 Nov 14
EKI on 29 Sep 15...hm..maybe connected to his victory...??

He received the BeoAbz on 30 Oct 15.

Later in 1917 to 1918 he served in the Baltic area.

If Werner arrived FFA 22 on 14 Sep 15 and two weeks later he got the EK1 for his first victory it would be easier to find out where and when it was.

Hallo again Alex

Yes rather certain the victory was scored between 14 and 28 Sep 15...!

The Heeresberichte gives some clues of the date. With the information I have from that and other sources at moment,
a possible date is 22 Sep 15.

Looking at the personal roster I have for FFA 22 at that time a possible candidate for pilot is Uffz Fritz Kosmahl...
I dont knew the dates for his two first victories..

However to get a definite answer you must search sources I havent read yet. In this case you must read the daily reports
of AOK 3, they with certainty exists in more then one German archive. The Stofl 3 and others Stofls did not write own weekly
reports at this stage of the War.
However I have a German contact who probably have read these AOK 3 reports. I will send a private e-mail with his name so he probably can help you.
